Cover paper selection largely depends on the binding style and your budget. For paperback manga, we typically recommend 250–350 gsm coated paper for the cover, as it provides excellent strength, durability, and a premium finish. For hardcover manga, a 2–3 mm gray board wrapped with 157 gsm coated paper is the preferred choice, offering solid protection and a professional appearance. Heavier uncoated cardstock is also available for creators who prefer a more natural, matte look. Alternatively, a self-cover—using the same paper as the interior pages—can be a cost-effective option for simpler binding methods or short print runs.
